ABOUT
This beautiful poster by Zeb Love commemorates Willie Nelson’s first show at the Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin, Texas on August 12, 1972. This concert was the "big bang" of modern Austin music, and the show that put the “outlaw country” movement on the map.
INSPIRATION
The art symbolically represents the "journey" in Willie's career from Nashville to Austin, which was a significant moment in not only country music, but pop music history. Because of Willie’s well publicized love of horses and animals in general, the artist decided to make Willie's journey on horseback, with the city of Austin in the distance.
