Behind the Poster: Rush Temples of Syrinx 21/12 Day

It's international Rush day, and we're celebrating Neil, Alex and Geddy with the release of a very limited 2112 Day edition of the Temples of Syrinx print! We only have 10 of these, so be on the lookout as we'll be dropping these at a random time on 12/21!

Rush's remarkably daring 1976 release of the dystopian future, sci-fi concept album 2112 turned 44 years old on April 1, 2020; and we are honored to be able to release an officially licensed print by the amazing Palehorse titled The Temples of Syrinx

Following a series of multi-planetary cataclysms in the year 2112, a federation of demonic, interplanetary rulers, masquerading as divinely inspired priests have taken control of the remaining citizens, eliminating all traces and relics of mind-expanding tools of self-discovery. All forms of art, music, literature, entertainment and career opportunities have been limited to that which has been solely provided and ordained under the Red Star of the Solar Federation.

As in all great mythological epics, the heroes and villains represented in the story are symbols of the inner struggle that we all must overcome in order to realize our highest potential in life. The Priests of the Temples of Syrinx promise safety, security and order under their control, but at the high price of denying individuals the freedom to explore their own consciousness and express themselves creatively. But the tyranny of this cosmic imbalance can never last! RUSH reminds us that the creative life force that permeates the universe, lives within every sentient being and will always return to destroy fear and injustice when the scales are tipped. The eternal truths that become hidden by an age of darkness and deception must eventually be restored and the scales rebalanced. This poster is meant to be displayed as a reminder to all that we can look within to discover the inspiration, courage and valor to follow our bliss and manifest our dreams into reality. When we harness the power of imagination, we become unbound by the fear of death and scarcity, no-longer shackled by deception and becoming free to explore this life with hungry mind and open eyes!  - Palehorse
