The Doors New Haven 1967

The Doors New Haven 1967

December 9, 2022 marked the 55th Anniversary of one of the most infamous moments in rock and roll history; the night when Jim Morrison was arrested on while performing on stage, along with members of the press and fans. The events were later referenced in The Doors 1970 song “Peace Frog” with the line “Blood in the streets in the town of New Haven.” We created a vintage psychedelic poster commemorating not only the moment in rock history, but the band as a whole.

This art is by Max Loeffler and is heavily influenced by the founders of the San Francisco school of psychedelic rock posters aka “The Big 5”: Wes Wilson, Stanley Mouse, Alton Kelley, Rick Griffin and Victor Moscoso.
